Business Plus Pleasure!

This past week I got a chance to mix business with some family time. I had some training to do at my agency and luckily, we have family in the same area that we don’t get to see often.

I don’t know about you but I love to find ways to combine activities to maximize my vacation.

So, this trip we were able to travel between four states to visit family and get some work done.

When possible, it can be great to bring your family or significant other along on business trips. It gives you someone to hang with on down time and enjoy the sights with someone you love. We were able to travel between four states, go to the beach, Times Square, visit the new African American Museum in DC, visit with family and get a little business done!

Add a few days before or after your business trip. You can even have loved one’s travel to meet you after the work is done.

Do some research before you travel or better yet call me! I’m here to make sure you have all your basis covered like car rental, insurance or finding out if you should get a toll pass for the area your traveling too.

One of our biggest obstacles traveling along the east coast was the toll roads. Being from the midwest where there a minimal to no tolls, we were not expecting the cost and the amount of toll roads on our journey. We had forgone the EasyPass option on our car rental. BIG MISTAKE!!! The car rental rep was not very helpful in this respect either, so we were at a total loss. Be aware that tolls can cost anywhere from $1.50 to over $20 maybe more. There are several toll spots that take cash only. Given that we are card carriers this was a major issue. If the there is no mail in option then you have to take the fee hit which can be $20 per toll plus the cost of the toll. Since we were in a rental car, they charge an up-charge as well.

As busy adults, you can often forget some small significant things that me as your travel agent can insure you know. So, next time you might consider adding to your travel party while on a business trip … Just CALL and Travel with #JustAskKiky
